Analysis of 2015 IGCSE Physics Past Exam Papers

  • Use this analysis to prepare yourself well for your exams.
  • This analysis will help you understand, if you currently  fall in the category of low performers, average performers  or the star performers category.
  • Based on your performance , work upon your errors and improve your grades

March Paper 12:

  • 1, 3, 5, 6, 10, 16, 23, 28, 36, and 40. were the Easy Questions

March Paper 22:

  • 1(b) This question was not answered well by candidates. A common misconception was that acceleration increases with distance of fall, leading to the incorrect response that acceleration was greater at Y than at X.
  • 1 (d) This part was answered well by only the highest scoring candidates.
  • 2(a)This was answered well by better prepared candidates.
  • 3(b)This question was found to be challenging by nearly all candidates.
  • 4(d)This question was answered correctly by very few candidates
  • 5a(ii)This was answered correctly very rarely
  • 6(b)This part was well answered by only the better prepared candidates.
  • 7b(iii)This question was not answered well,
  • 9(a)This question was not well answered.
  • 10(b)(ii)Fewer candidates answered correctly
  • 11(b)Only the higher scoring candidates gained credit.

March Paper 32:

  • 1b(ii)This question proved very testing for candidate
  • 7a(i)Only a very small proportion of the candidates knew, as required by the syllabus, what is meant by an electric field.
  • 8b(ii)Various wrong currents were given

March Paper 62:

  • 1a(i)Many candidates were unable to think this through clearly enough to gain the mark.
  • 3(e)Only a small minority of candidates recognised the need to increase the supply voltage in order to make the lamp glow more brightly.
  • 4(a)Very few candidates gave the value of u1 as 5.0 cm,
  • 5b(ii)Many candidates seemed unable to think clearly about the procedure and did not target their answers appropriately.
